Eyebright Pub Sign Estimate Calculator
Due to the nature of hand-painted pub signs it is extremely difficult to give any solid estimates - this is why Nick Hallard prefers to give no-nonsense quotes instead, but these can only be given after each client's needs have been discussed. However, it is recognised that clients prefer to be in control of their own budgets, and with that in mind Nick Hallard has made available examples of the different elements he needs when coming up with a quote, and linked them to what has been charged for each in the past. This allows potential clients to know a very rough price without picking up the phone.

However, as is shown on the 'Artwork' page, the range of prices for what seem to be the same image can be wide. It is best described in terms of 'workshop-hours'. A pub called The Swan, for example, may require anything from a simple two-colour sillhouette of a swan to a photo-realistic depiction of a family of swans on a lake at sunset. The difference from one to the other may be a whole working week, and so any price suggested prior to working out the actual artwork has to be reflected in the range of prices. At the same time, Nick Hallard wants to give the potential customer visiting this website as much information as possible when they are deciding who will supply their new pub sign. Also shown in the 'Artwork' section is the potential difference in price between a customer supplying an image and Nick Hallard sourcing or creating one from scratch.

Have a pen and paper handy for totalling up your options, the rough prices for which are given over six stages, all of which are necessary to work out a price. Click below to begin the first step.
